What is an ISBN and is it necessary to give it to an e-book?

ISBN is the International Standardized Book Number.

Assigning an ISBN to a publication is not necessary, but it is very beneficial and often even advisable. If you are a VAT payer, for example, assigning an ISBN entitles you to benefit from a reduced tax of 5%. If you plan to distribute your e-book more widely – giving it a number may be advisable.

The ISBN inspires confidence in many people. It costs nothing to assign it.

How to get an ISBN?

Nothing simpler. All you have to do is apply for a pool of numbers (you can apply for 10, 100 and 10000 numbers at a time). Remember, however, that 1 number belongs to 1 publication, regardless of circulation.
